We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Bunkie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Bunkie made easy work of Plainview and carried off a 16-1 victory.

Rylee Townsend made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other pitching news, Aubree Ducote looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brianna LaBorde, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That run marked the first that she's scored this season. Braelyn Ferguson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Bunkie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pine Prairie had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Golden Tors.

Pine Prairie's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bunkie, their record now sits at 2-3.

Bunkie came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Prairie when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Will Bunkie repeat their success, or does Pine Prairie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
