Lovelady is 10-0 against Latexo since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lovelady Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Latexo Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
Last Friday, Lovelady came up short against Centerville and fell 57-48. Lovelady has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though Latexo has not done well against Groveton recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Latexo walked away with a 58-45 win over Groveton. The victory was some much needed relief for Latexo as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lovelady has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Latexo, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.
Everything came up roses for Lovelady against Latexo in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 63-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lovelady since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
