It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Native American Community Academy Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 73-65 victory over Monte Del Sol Charter. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Monte Del Sol Charter still got an impressive performance from Devin Moore, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 31 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gursangat Bhandal, who scored 24 points along with four steals.
Native American Community Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Monte Del Sol Charter, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Native American Community Academy will square off against Estancia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Estancia is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Monte Del Sol Charter, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
