The Rangely Panthers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They really took it to Caprock Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-14 win at home. The win was familiar territory for Rangely who now have five in a row.
Rangely got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlynn Ducey out in front who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Miah Wren was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Caprock Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Rangely pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Rangely's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31 points. As for Caprock Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rangely will take on North Park at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Rangely is ranked 53rd). As for Caprock Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Soroco at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
