On Friday, Lab University Prep made easy work of Palisades and carried off a 77-54 win. Given Lab University Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Palisades is ranked 161st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lab University Prep to victory were Christian Aukuso and Juwann Argant. Aukuso dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Argant scored 18 points. The contest was Aukuso's third in a row with at least ten points. Blake Moss was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Despite the loss, Palisades saw an underclassman step up: Kingston Henry scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Chris Jackson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Lab University Prep's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Palisades, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Lab University Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palisades will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Olympic at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
