It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Calvary Christian Warriors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Lakewood at home to the tune of 56-28. The win was familiar territory for Calvary Christian who now have eight in a row.
Jacob Drackett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 420 yards and six touchdowns while completing 82.1% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Drackett is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Robinson, who picked up 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Lakewood had strong showings from Tayshawn Bell, who rushed for 142 yards on only nine carries, and Armani Sullivan, who rushed for 101 yards on only seven carries. Sullivan was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lakewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Calvary Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Clearwater at 7:30 p.m. Lakewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
