Basketball Recap: Moon Valley Wins Going Away Against Tempe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moon Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 49-30 victory over the Tempe Buffaloes on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rockets with their most commanding win of the season.

Moon Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamariana Shaw out in front who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aniston Pattershall, who put up 11 points in addition to seven assists and four blocks.

Tempe's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiari Montanez-Woods, who had 11 points. That was a full 36.7% of Tempe's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samarah Massicot, who put up nine points.

Moon Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Tempe, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moon Valley will take on Peoria in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 17th. Moon Valley is facing Peoria at the right time seeing as Peoria is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Tempe and Greenway will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on December 18th.
