The Shoshoni Wranglers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 37-23 to Wright. Shoshoni has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Shoshoni saw an underclassman step up: Brenna Metzler scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Metzler has scored all season.
Shoshoni's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Wright, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shoshoni will challenge the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wind River is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. Wright is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Moorcroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday.
