After flying high against the Hoffman Estates Hawks last Tuesday, the Conant Cougars came back down to earth. Conant lost to Palatine on the road by a decisive 52-38 margin on Friday. If Conant hoped to take revenge for the 42-33 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Palatine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Frankie Henderson, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Henderson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Halle Onyekonwu, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Conant has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Palatine, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conant will take on Schaumburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Schaumburg is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Palatine, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Glenbrook North at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th.
