Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Danville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Roger Bacon on Friday as they made off with a 37-13 victory. The game was close at halftime, but the Warriors turned on the heat in the second half with 21 points.
Danville's win came from a few key players Lebanon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Daiton Hood, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Trevor Lynch was another key player, gaining 101 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Danville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Danville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Porter Prather and Jacob Fultz. Fultz also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Another thorn in Roger Bacon's side was Bryce Eagen, who picked up a sack, made 11 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Lebanon's record is now 5-1. As for Danville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Lebanon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Danville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 181.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Lebanon couldn't quite get it done against Danville when the teams last played back in September of 2024 as they fell 21-10. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
