Crossroads Christian is a perfect 3-0 against Lawrence Academy since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Crossroads Christian Colts will be playing at home against the Lawrence Academy Warriors at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Crossroads Christian is returning to their home court after beating New Garden Friends on theirs, despite the fact New Garden Friends has dominated at home this season. Crossroads Christian walked away with a 68-58 win over New Garden Friends on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.
Crossroads Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Smith led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kobe Edgerton, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 21 points and six boards.
Crossroads Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Lawrence Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against Ridgecroft by a score of 62-55 on Thursday.
Crossroads Christian better keep an eye on Nike Wiggins. He was instrumental in Lawrence Academy's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten assists. Wiggins' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hoggard, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.
Lawrence Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points over those games. As for Crossroads Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Crossroads Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Lawrence Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
