McKinley hasn't had much luck against Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Dragons will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on McKinley, who comes in off a win.
McKinley took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Struthers, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Dragons narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 8-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Dragons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Julie Burke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Burke was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Myers, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Airie Jones, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Memorial came up short against McDonald on Wednesday, falling 20-1. The Red Devils have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Melianys Colon-Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for McKinley, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-9.
McKinley might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Memorial when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Red Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
