Softball Recap: Eastern Guilford Wins Going Away Against Dudley

Eastern Guilford won the last time they faced Dudley and things went their way on Tuesday too. Eastern Guilford blew past Dudley 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Alyssa Collins, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Alyssa Moore was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Eastern Guilford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Eastern Guilford and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Dudley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Guilford will take on Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Guilford's pitchers better be ready for this one: Southeast Guilford has averaged an impressive 13.1 runs per game this season. As for Dudley, they will square off against High Point Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
