Softball Recap: Harnett Central Has No Trouble Against Triton

Harnett Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Triton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Trojans blew past the Hawks 11-5 on Tuesday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Molly Champion, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Faulkner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Harnett Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

Harnett Central pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Triton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-4.

Harnett Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
