Even though the Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech Tigers scored an imposing 69 points on Monday, the Downey Christian Patriots still came out on top. Downey Christian walked away with an 80-69 win over Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech. The win made it back-to-back wins for Downey Christian.
Downey Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Olajuwon out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Olajuwon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maylon Marte, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Downey Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-5.
Downey Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Vine Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech's road trip will continue as they head out to face Varsity Opponent at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th.
