The Northview Chiefs can finally bid farewell to their 20-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They slipped by Elberta 47-46. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Northview has managed all season.
Northview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Diamond out in front who scored 11 points. The game was Diamond's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JACOB SPENCE, who scored nine points.
Northview's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3. As for Elberta, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northview will take on Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Saturday. As for Elberta, they will be playing at home against Baldwin County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Baldwin County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Elberta in Alabama (Baldwin County is ranked 81st, while Elberta is ranked 386th).
