While Coal Ridge put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Montezuma-Cortez. Coal Ridge was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Montezuma-Cortez. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Ben Simons, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan Harlow, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Coal Ridge has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Coal Ridge will take on University at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. University's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Coal Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will square off against Rifle at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
