The Idabel Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Ada Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Idabel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matches -- so hopefully Ada likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Idabel earned a 62-50 win over Kingston. Given Idabel's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Kingston is ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Ada had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They had just enough and edged Destiny Christian out 41-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Ada has posted yet this season.
Ada's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carter Colombe, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, and Devon Maccollister, who scored 15 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Keith Cook, who scored three points along with five rebounds.
Idabel's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Ada, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
