The Axtell Longhorns lost against the Dawson Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Axtell lost to Dawson on the road by a decisive 68-54 margin.
Dawson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elijah Allen, who scored 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Dawson's points. Hastin Easley was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Axtell's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Dawson, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Axtell will challenge Hubbard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dawson, they will head out on the road to face off against Mart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mart is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
