Softball Recap: Wahama Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Wahama waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Huntington Highlanders with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the White Falcons have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Wahama's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kate Reynolds, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. Fiona VanMatre was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Wahama's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Huntington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Wahama will face off against Ravenswood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Huntington, they will square off against Sissonville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
