Basketball Recap: Union City Piles Up the Points Against Jamestown

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corry, Union City was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They breezed by the Jamestown Muskies to the tune of 82-18. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Union City was led to victory by Trevin Capela and Elijah Troyer. Capela dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Troyer went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Troyer is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Trent Parkhurst, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points.

Jamestown lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Danner Babcock, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Branden Sailar, who had six points.

Union City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jamestown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Union City will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Fort LeBoeuf at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Fort LeBoeuf is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.5 points per game this season. As for Jamestown, they will head out to challenge Portersville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
