It's playoff time, and Delta had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 49-44 victory over the Skyview Wolverines on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on 14 straight.
It was another big night for Taylor Somers, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Kehmeier, who posted 11 points and six steals.
Despite the loss, Skyview still got an impressive performance from Nevaeh Lucero, who had 18 points along with eight boards and five steals. Lucero is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. Leila Estrada was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.
Delta's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Skyview, they moved to 20-5 with that loss, which also ended their 14-game winning streak.
Delta didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-24 win against Colorado Academy on the 12th. Skyview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
