Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory to victory, but perhaps none more so than John Holbrook, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Littlejohn, who scored 17 points.
Statesville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tatum Tucker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Tucker hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. MJ Gladden was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory will take on North Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Iredell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 906 points over their last 13 games. Statesville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. West Iredell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 594th, while Statesville is ranked 243rd).
