Given Fayetteville-Perry's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Fairfield is ranked 505th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fayetteville-Perry found their leader in underclassman Christina Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Murphy hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cara Rummel, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Fayetteville-Perry is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Fayetteville-Perry will head out on the road to face off against Miami Valley Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fayetteville-Perry is coming into the match with six straight wins on the road, so Miami Valley Christian Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Fairfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Westfall at 7:00 p.m. Westfall has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
