It was a good run, but the Clarksville Academy Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 52-45 to Goodpasture Christian. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clarksville Academy of the 56-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Clarksville Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malaya Woullard. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with five assists. Anna Hellums was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Clarksville Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Goodpasture Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Clarksville Academy will head out on the road to challenge Ezell-Harding Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ezell-Harding Christian is on a six-game streak of home wins, Clarksville Academy a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Goodpasture Christian will take on Davidson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Goodpasture Christian is ranked 52nd).
