The Grand Valley Cardinals put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Roaring Fork for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-35 win at home. Grand Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Grand Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Gronewoller led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gronewoller has scored all season. Kaylae Medina was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Grand Valley's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.54 points. As for Roaring Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Valley will square off against Cedaredge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cedaredge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Grand Valley is ranked 45th). As for Roaring Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Olathe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Olathe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Saturday.
