Dalton Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coahulla Creek Colts. The Pumas were not able to make up for their defeat to the Colts from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14.
Coahulla Creek was led to victory by Maddy Hambright and Alyce Norton. Hambright had 15 assists and three aces, while Norton hit 80% for nine kills and nine digs and two aces. Norton is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season.
Dalton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Coahulla Creek, they pushed their record up to 2-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, Dalton Academy and Coahulla Creek will both be playing Darlington the next time they take the court. The Pumas will head out to face the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Colts will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
