While Savannah Classical Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Cross Stingrays on Thursday as the Savannah Classical Academy Spartans made off with a 61-37 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Cross' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Fulda, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Zach Nicastro was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points.

Savannah Classical Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cross, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Savannah Classical Academy has already played their next contest, a 54-29 victory against Royal Live Oaks Academy on the 9th. As for Cross, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-41 defeat against Hilton Head Christian Academy on the 10th.
