The Holy Family Tigers struggled with assists on Saturday (the Silver Creek Raptors had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Holy Family ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-34 walloping at the hands of the Raptors. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holy Family has scored all season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Tafoya, who scored 11 points. Caleb Schott was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Silver Creek found their leader in underclassman Luke Schmeeckle, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schmeeckle has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Mires, who scored six points along with six assists.
Holy Family's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Silver Creek, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Holy Family will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Silver Creek, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Centaurus is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
