The Spring Valley Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. The match between Spring Valley and St. Francis wasn't particularly close, with Spring Valley falling 50-36. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spring Valley has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Spring Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alijah Adem. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The match was Adem's fifth in a row with at least ten points. CJ Joshua was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds.
Spring Valley now has a losing record at 2-3. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley and Jefferson will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. St. Francis will be home for the holidays to greet La Canada at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Canada will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 368th, while St. Francis is ranked 60th).
