The William Allen Canaries were the 58-47 winner over the Woodson Cavaliers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. William Allen's tough 58-32 defeat to Woodson on Thursday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, William Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 426th in Pennsylvania, while Woodson is ranked 54th in Virginia).
Woodson was led to victory by William Taylor and Noah Limbago. Taylor scored 11 points along with eight rebounds, while Limbago scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Limbago also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Theo Burke, who scored six points.
William Allen's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Woodson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. William Allen will square off against East Stroudsburg North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodson, they will head out on the road to face off against West Potomac at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Potomac is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
