Softball Recap: Moody Wins Going Away Against St. Clair County

Moody won the last time they faced St. Clair County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Moody Blue Devils were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the St. Clair County Fighting Saints. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bella Turley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Emma Kile was incredible, firing off three home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Rogers, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Moody always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Clair County only posted an OBP of .294.

The victory snapped Moody's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-5 record. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for St. Clair County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8-1.

Moody will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Clair County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
