The Fike Demons will be playing at home against the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fike comes in on five and Southern Lee on three.
Last Friday, Fike didn't have too much trouble with Hunt at home as they won 27-10.
Fike's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Artis, who picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Artis was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bud Woodard, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Southern Lee's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lee County 17-14.
Southern Lee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robbie Sims, who rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries. Southern Lee also got a significant boost from Tyrice Douglas, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
Fike has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Southern Lee, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
