There's no place like home for Tri-Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 win over the Cowan Blackhawks on Friday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.
Tri-Central found their leader in sophomore Cooper Leininger, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jay Jankoviak, who posted seven points along with eight boards and five assists.
Cowan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Garrett, who earned 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Self, who put up four points in addition to six boards and four steals.
The victory got Tri-Central back to even at 1-1.
Tri-Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-44 win against Daleville on the 6th. As for Cowan, they have also already played their next matchup, a 63-46 loss against Shenandoah on the 6th.
