Basketball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Takes a Loss

Oxbridge Academy lost against NSU University back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves took a blow against the NSU University Sharks, falling 51-23. While losing is never fun, the ThunderWolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Sharks are ranked 138th).

NSU University was led to victory by Tatum Billie and Kenna Cohen-Osceola. Billie went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Cohen-Osceola went 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Billie has scored at least a third of NSU University's points. Giselle Grant was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Oxbridge Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for NSU University, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Oxbridge Academy has already played their next match (against Avant Garde Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. NSU University has already played their next game, a 45-14 win against David Posnack Jewish Day on the 16th.
