Holmes has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Villa Madonna Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Holmes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Holmes had to suffer through a rough 80-53 loss at the hands of Bracken County. Holmes was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-24.
Meanwhile, Villa Madonna didn't have too much trouble with Leslie County at home on Saturday as they won 47-32. The victory was just what Villa Madonna needed coming off of a 58-38 defeat in their prior match.
Villa Madonna had a senior duo take command as Henry Thole dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds and Adam Brandstetter scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Brandstetter also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season.
Holmes dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Villa Madonna, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
