Palmview is 0-3 against Flour Bluff since February of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Lobos will head out to face off against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Flour Bluff will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Palmview extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Lobos' pitcher stepped up to hand Martin a 22-0 shutout.
Jordan Reyes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

In other batting news, Yailyn Trevino was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Alynna Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Palmview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .759. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 12 consecutive games.
Flour Bluff came out on top against King on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Hornets put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-2 win.
Flour Bluff got a massive performance out of Sidney Gerlach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Mayo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Palmview's record now sits at 21-3-1. As for Flour Bluff, their record is now 23-9-1.
Palmview might still be hurting after the 10-3 loss they got from Flour Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
