III Section V recap September 4, 2013
Marana's Bradley Gonzales rumbled for the longest rushing play in III Section V this season in his game against Mountain View last week. Gonzales ran for 77 yards on the play and finished with 183 on the day as his team lost to the Mountain Lions.
Casa Grande was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Cougars defeated Dysart 10-7.
Maricopa's dynamic duo of ISAIAH PEDRO and TIM BYRD proved tough for Tempe to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. PEDRO threw for 118 yards and BYRD had 44 yards receiving. ADAM KOCHEISER helped Maricopa's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 30 yards.
The Rams' dynamic duo of PEDRO and BYRD proved to be unstoppable against the Buffaloes, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
PEDRO put up the best numbers in passing as Maricopa fell to Tempe.
BYRD was the best wideout in the league this week as Cory Nenaber's team lost to Brian Walker's team.
KOCHEISER made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Rams lost to the Buffaloes. The 6-foot-2 junior nabbed 2 interceptions.
Gonzales was a passing and rushing force as Marana fell to Mountain View. Gonzales' key target this week was Travis Howard, who caught 2 passes for 31 yards.
Gonzales was the most successful running back in III Section V this week. Ben Honea also contributed to the rushing game with 20 yards on the ground.

The Tigers lost to Clarence McRae's team 51-28 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gonzales was a bright spot for Marana, as he caught 1 passes for 11 yards in the loss.
