Salem were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Midland 59-14. That result was just more of the same for Salem, who also won the last time these teams played.
Salem's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 52 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Midland couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 52-0 heading into the break. Although Salem wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war. The win bumped their record up to 4-1. Midland are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6.
Next week Salem take on Marked Tree at 7:00 PM. Unlike Salem, Marked Tree will be limping in after taking a loss. Midland will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Rector at Varsity in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
