Basketball Recap: Palmer Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Rosa Fort came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Palmer, but Jalean Tweedy wouldn't allow it. The Palmer Dragons managed a 57-52 win over the Rosa Fort Lions on Tuesday thanks in part to Tweedy, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Cornelius Emerson, who posted six points along with 14 boards and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games he's played.

Palmer has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Rosa Fort, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Palmer will square off against Water Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Water Valley has won four straight at home, while Palmer won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Rosa Fort, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-44 victory against Independence on the 22nd.
