It was a good run, but South Guilford HomeSchool unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by the South Wake Sabres 83-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since January 29, 2024.

Despite the defeat, South Guilford HomeSchool had strong showings from Jamar Turner, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, and Nate Martin, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. That was a full 37.8% of South Guilford HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

South Wake was led to victory by Noah Wright and Lawson Jurgens. Wright went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points, while Jurgens dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Wright's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Brueggeman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

South Guilford HomeSchool's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10. As for South Wake, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

South Guilford HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-55 victory against New Life Camp on the 3rd. As for South Wake, they will square off against Cary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
