Point Pleasant Beach took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the South River Rams 37-6. With the Garnet Gulls ahead 30-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Point Pleasant Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Rossi, who threw for 266 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Danny Cavanaugh was Rossi's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant Beach will welcome Asbury Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
