A Season-Best Effort from Teiyon Halbasch Leads Layton over Syracuse
Sadly, Teiyon Halbasch posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Layton over Syracuse on Thursday. Halbasch picked up 307 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.
Layton is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. They and Weber are set to duel on Wednesday.

Hoopes Made His Presence Known in Farmington's 28-20 Victory
Travis Hoopes's big game helped extend Farmington's winning streak to three on Thursday. Hoopes was unstoppable, rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Farmington is 3-1 when Hoopes posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

Owen Simkins produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Fremont to the win on Thursday. Simkins rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 85 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 70 yards.
The win (which was Fremont's seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Simkins and Fremont will head out on the road to face off against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bode Sparrow continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 101 receiving yards. He picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Davis is 5-1 when Sparrow posts 100 or more receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
