Scottsdale Christian Academy and Fountain Hills are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will welcome the Falcons at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Madison Highland Prep 17-0. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won five contests in a row.

Owen Kendrick and Dylan Tims were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Kendrick pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Tims pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Scottsdale Christian Academy is 5-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. At the plate, Kendrick scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Tims scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Kendrick a new career-high in doubles (two).
In other batting news, Trevor Green and Hank Berg did most of the damage at the plate: Green went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Berg scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Berg a new career-high. Luke Troxell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Scottsdale Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Fountain Hills made easy work of Camp Verde on Monday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Lucas Grieco was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Scottsdale Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fountain Hills, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Scottsdale Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Fountain Hills struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Scottsdale Christian Academy beat Fountain Hills 4-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
