The Galesburg Christian Lions were the 45-27 winner over the Morning Star Academy Mustangs when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Galesburg Christian fell 41-31 to Morning Star Academy on Tuesday. Galesburg Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Morning Star Academy found their leader in underclassman Violet Jewell, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jewell has scored at least a third of Morning Star Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Allison Ammann, who scored six points.
Galesburg Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Morning Star Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galesburg Christian will play host again and welcome Tri-State Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-State Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Morning Star Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Durant/Bennett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
