Syracuse is a perfect 3-0 against Fremont since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Titans will square off against the Silverwolves at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Syracuse is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Farmington, who was ranked 17th at the time (Syracuse was ranked eighth). The Titans fell 3-1 to the Phoenix on Tuesday. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Syracuse was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Farmington work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-16, 26-28, 25-22.

Syracuse's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ian Sprague, who had 13 digs. Sprague has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Weber, falling 3-0.
Fremont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 25-15.
Syracuse's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-4. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Everything went Syracuse's way against Fremont when the teams last played back in March, as Syracuse made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
