East Henderson is 0-10 against Franklin since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The East Henderson Eagles will be staying on the road to face off against the Franklin Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. East Henderson will be strutting in after a victory while Franklin will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, East Henderson earned a 31-24 win over Chase. The victory was just what East Henderson needed coming off of a 44-12 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-34, which was the final score in Franklin's tilt against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 224th in North Carolina, while Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is ranked 98th in Georgia).
Despite their loss, Franklin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cali Queen, who scored ten points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Aubrey Haley was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Franklin struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
East Henderson's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Franklin, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
East Henderson took a serious blow against Franklin in their previous meeting back in February, falling 56-29. Can East Henderson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
