Grant can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Kennedy with a sharp 79-57 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Laguna Creek entered their tilt with Kennedy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Laguna Creek strolled past Kennedy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-53.
Laguna Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Smith out in front who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Adaarion "AD" Strauthers was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Grant is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Laguna Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
Grant couldn't quite finish off Laguna Creek in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 51-49. Can Grant avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
