The Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors won the last time they faced the Saugerties Sawyers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Our Lady of Lourdes blew past Saugerties 69-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Our Lady of Lourdes.
Despite the defeat, Saugerties saw an underclassman step up: Ty Van Valkenburg scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Van Valkenburg scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harry Maskell, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Our Lady of Lourdes' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Saugerties, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Lourdes will take on Wallkill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saugerties, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
