Saint Joseph Valley recap Sept. 26, 2012
White Pigeon was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Saint Joseph Valley. Earlier in the week, the Chiefs triumphed over Centreville 27-8.
Mendon extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Bronson, 41-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Mendon's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Eberstein threw for 47 and one touchdown and Tyler Harris had 18 yards receiving. On the ground Harris chipped in 169 yards. Kyle Weswell helped Mendon's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Mendon's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Eberstein has thrown for 319 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Weswell has three catches for 83 yards. Harris leads the league in rushing with 412 yards.
A big matchup in Saint Joseph Valley this week will be when White Pigeon takes on the Vikings. Jason Vogel's team is currently in second, while Bronson is in third.
John Schwartz's team took down Jeffrey Gallup's team 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Harris in the win.
